Chef Vern: Chocolates for Valentine's Day

Chef Vern Wolfram, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Dietetics & Nutrition Division, demonstrates the special art of working with chocolate. Assisting him will be students from his culinary class. Special Valentine’s Day treats are the theme for this tasty event. This event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the South Lot across from the bookstore. How can you use others' copyrighted works or let them use yours in permissible ways? What are the boundaries of Fair Use or the TEACH Act? Can you use works that have unknown authors? Who has rights if there are multiple authors? When do you need permission to make copies or post something on Blackboard?
    
Join Mike Hanley, university counsel, for a Q-and-A forum on copyright issues in the academy. Participants are invited to send in questions in advance to lkmorrison@uaa.alaska.edu by Feb. 8. Registration required.
